Great Masquerade Candlelight Carol Service -Sunday 16th December 2010

Carol Service

This years carol service is a family (all age) opportunity to party and celebrate the birth of Christ in our candlelight service.

We will include drama, puppets, a competition for the best mask, along with traditional carols and mince pies in a candle lit atmosphere.

Please come and join us, we will have fun. Below you can see some photos from last years carol service which those that came along found fun, unusual and atmospheric.

There will be no morning service on this day, members will be handing out invitations to the evening service in the shopping areas around St Ives.

Photo from Carol Service

Here is one image from the Carol Service held in 2009 - A puppet sketch was used to convey the message of Gods perfect gift to us to fully involve all in the service.

There was no theological significance to Four candles on Fork Handles, just a bit of fun based on the two Ronnies Sketch "Fork Handles". We will decorate some fork handles as candle holders to light the hall.

Just think of this Jesus came to a predominently agricultural community, I wonder if he ever made fork handles?
