For God so loved the world that He gave
................... and He gives and gives
2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever
sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he
has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion,
for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make
all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all
that you need, you will abound in every good work. NIV
Above all else we encourage cheerful giving, it pleases our Father in
heaven. We do believe in the principle of tithing (that is giving of 10%
of our income into the work of the local church) as a minimum. God gives
us everything we need in the first place including money to invest in
the extension of His kingdom, a full 100%, and He lovingly gives us 90%
to live on.
Malachi 3:9-12
You are under a curse — the whole nation of you — because
you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty,
"and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour
out so much blessing that you will not have room enough
for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines
in your fields will not cast their fruit," says the LORD Almighty.
"Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a
delightful land," says the LORD Almighty. NIV
We take this passage from Malachi seriously, as Gods encouragement to
us TO TEST HIM in this. We know God will abundantly bless, to the point
where we will not have room for all His provision, if we tithe. We are
looking for the floodgates of heaven to open over St Ives and the surrounding
area, because His people are obedient to His word.
DEBT is the acroynym for Doing Everything
But Tithing.
As a fellowship all of our income is tithed to Elim HQ, and we give offerings
above this minimum requirement to other ministries.
If you are a tax payer and wish to give to the ministry of The Vine please
ask for Gift Aid details so that we can claim back tax,
this significantly increases our income and ability to serve in this area. You may give on line if you wish to different areas of the ministry by clicking here to go to our donations page.
